MSBE Invitation to Bid – Vest WTP Upgrades, Charlotte Water, NC

Wharton-Smith is a general contractor who is soliciting proposals from Charlotte Water MBE & SBE certified subcontractors & suppliers for the Vest Water Treatment Plant Upgrades for Charlotte Water, North Carolina.This project is scheduled to bid on Tuesday, February 05, 2019 2:00 PM ET. Please submit your proposed scope of work to us at least 24 hours prior to the bid date & your firm pricing for that scope of work by 10:00 am on bid day. Proposals may be emailed to envestimating@whartonsmith.com, faxed to 407.330.1092 &/or phoned in to 407.321.8410.

Bidding documents are available for free download via www.isqft.com. If you would like to receive a copy of the Plans, Specs, & Addenda, please email your request including your company’s name & contact information toenvestimating@whartonsmith.com (please be sure to provide the project name in the subject line), or call 407.321.8410 to speak to Carly Burleson. Upon receiving your request for the bidding documents, we will send you an Invitation-to-Bid via email, which provides a link to the project documents via www.isqft.com. The iSqFt website will provide instructions on how to log in & view or download the bidding documents. Project Scope of Work: Construction of upgrades of the Vest Water Treatment Plant consisting of constructing raw water improvements, sedimentation basin improvements, filter upgrades, high service pumping modifications and improvements, clearwell improvements, plant piping improvements, concrete repairs and coatings and general site improvements at the Vest WTP, and filter improvements and concrete and coating repairs at the Franklin WTP.

Anticipated Areas of Subcontract Work include: Surveying, preconstruction video, hauling, erosion control, fencing, Demolition, Sidewalks and Driveways, Paving (asphalt paving, resurfacing, alley and parking lot), landscaping/sodding, sitework (excavation & fill, trenching & backfill), concrete (forming, rebar, joints & accessories, finishing, placing, curing, grouting, repair), metals (fabrications, railings, grating, anchor bolts, structural metals), rough carpentry, dampproofing, roofing (composition shingle roofing, TPO roofing, sheet metal), doors, painting & coatings, miscellaneous specialties, precast concrete building, pipe, valves and fittings, and electrical.

If your company requires our help to establish a specific scope of work, which is economically feasible and realistic for your company, and/or if you feel a scope of work is too large for your firm to handle individually, and are interested in breaking down the work or combing elements of work, please contact us to discuss.

Wharton-Smith, Inc. will assist MSBE’s in obtaining required bonding or insurance coverage for this contract, or offer alternatives to bonding or insurance, such as waiving bonding requirements if appropriate, and/or help pay costs associated with securing required bonding and insurance for this project. A summary of our MWSBE Bonding and Insurance Assistance Program will be provided as an attachment to our email Invitation to Bid. Please advise us if your company requires special accommodations with these items.

Wharton-Smith, Inc. will gladly work with MSBE’s in need of financial assistance, including but not limited to (a) obtaining equipment, a loan, capital, lines of credit, (b) joint pay agreements or guaranties to secure loans, the purchase of supplies, or letters of credit, including waiving credit that is ordinarily required, or (c) assistance in obtaining the same unit pricing as our suppliers. A summary of our MWSBE Financial Assistance Program will be provided as an attachment to our email Invitation to Bid. Please advise us if your company requires special accommodations with these items.

Wharton-Smith, Inc. will offer a “Quick Pay Commitment” to all MWBE’s to assist qualified minority businesses with their cash flow, which means a commitment to pay MWBE’s within 20 days after the Contractor confirms that the work has been performed & completed properly. Should the terms of this policy be unacceptable for your company, we will gladly negotiate terms; however these agreements should be complete prior to bid date.  A copy of our MWSBE Quick Pay Commitment will be provided as an attachment to our email Invitation to Bid.
