The Institute's Women’s Business Center of Charlotte (WBCC) helps women-owned businesses start and grow.

We empower women by offering tools and support to establish businesses, stabilize their companies, generate sustainable profits, strategize for future growth and contribute to the growth and economic development of the community.

Our small business experts offer:

Natalie Williams recently joined the Institute team as the Executive Director of the Women’s Business Center of Charlotte. She is a professional leader with extensive knowledge and experience in effective execution and implementation of policy, procedure, and programs; and has over 15 years of financial, organizational development, and operational experience. As the Director of the WBC-Charlotte she will continue working in collaboration with resource partners to strengthen training programs for women entrepreneurs across a 12 County Region of Charlotte. She is responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance on the WBCC vision, developing training & counseling programs, managing staff, and overseeing WBC Charlotte’s budget. Natalie holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Management.

Cynthia Whitfield Neely, Chesapeake, VA native, began her communications career more than thirty years ago in Washington DC as a volunteer/staff for the non-profit, National Black Media Coalition. Here, she obtained her knowledge and experience working on the behalf of others to obtain media ownership in Tele- Communications industry. This experience led her to Charlotte, NC managing the radio/ television division of two faith-based Christian ministries; Victory Christian Center and Producer for a daily, three-hour, nightly television program, Nite-Line in Greenville, SC. Her professional experience afforded her several platforms to teach, nurture, and share her experience within the professional/non-profit communities in Marketing/Advertising, Public Relations and related areas in communications. Cynthia is a graduate of Virginia State University with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in English/Mass Communications.
