Kaye is responsible for the operations of the Institute’s Office of Small Disadvantage Business Utilization (OSDBU) programs in partnership with the US Department of Transportation. The SBTRC provides business training, technical assistance and information to USDOT grantees and recipients, prime contractors and subcontractors within the South Atlantic region, which consists of the states of Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. She directs the assessment of small businesses in the SA Region to determine their training and technical assistance needs and use information to structure programs and services to assist the small business enterprises to become better prepared to compete. Kaye has a degree in Business Administration, from Strayer University, and an extensive background in Finance working many years in the banking industry, and holds numerous certifications including Project Management.
Andrew works closely with the SBTRC Director in the operations of the Institute’s Office of Small Disadvantage Business Utilization (OSDBU) programs. Andrew is directly responsible for ensuring the utilization of a tracking database that lists each small business assisted by the SBTRC, date, type of small business and type of services provided. Andrew previously managed the organization’s Construction Resource Center located at NC A&T State University in Greensboro, designed to assist minority contractors with critical project information. Andrew has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from UNC-Greensboro, and Executive Management Certification, for Design and Project Management from UNC-Chapel Hill.
Alyssa Mako is the Project Coordinator and Finance Manager for the South Atlantic Region Small Business Transportation Resource Center, a program operated by The Institute. Alyssa coordinates the Bonding Education Program contractor-readiness program, provides technical assistance and resources to small business clients who operate transportation-related businesses.
Before joining the Institute, Alyssa worked for MBNA America Bank, holding various roles from customer service to risk analysis and new credit acquisition. Alyssa received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Business Administration from Wittenberg University, and holds numerous certifications including Certified Global Business Professional from NASBITE International.
