Dan has ten years’ experience in managing minority business center offices and extensive knowledge of MBDA marketing and administrative operations, and 30 years experience in preparing comprehensive business plans, loan packages, and market feasibility studies. Dan successfully manages Center’s staff, operations, and vision in meeting MBDA goals and achieving and continually meets Outstanding Performance Ratings. The MBDA is a partnership between the Institute and the U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency. Dan received his MBA from Western Carolina University and a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from Appalachian State University.
Carlos has recently joined the Institute as the MBDA Business Center Finance Technical Assistance Specialist working directly with the MBDA Business Center Director and across all program areas to identify and coordinate the technical assistance needs and other supportive services to MBEs statewide. Carlos also works to create opportunities for MBEs for accessing capital and facilitates relationships between the financial institutions and investment communities. Carlos is a graduate of Grambling State University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Gwen is the newest member of the MBDA Program working closely with the MBDA Director and Finance Technical Assistant Specialist as the MBDA Contract Specialist. She is responsible for the monitoring contract awards, loans, bonds and other instruments to minority entrepreneurs, and works closely with the Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Center in addition to providing administrative support. Gwen is a graduate of Elizabeth City University with a Bachelor of Science Degree, Business Administration.
