N.C. Repair and Renovation Projects 2013-2014

Small and historically underutilized (HUB) businesses in North Carolina have a significant market opportunity of $90 million in construction-related projects to be undertaken across the state in the coming year.

The N.C.Office of State Budget and Management released its 2013-14 Repair and Renovation Reserve project list –191 in all – in October.

Most of the projects are ideal for small and HUB businesses because they are under $500,000 and do not require bonding.

The list includes such projects as:

  • Roof repairs and replacements
  • Structural repairs
  • Electrical, plumbing and heating, ventilating and air-conditioning system repairs
  • Fire safety Improvements
  • Energy efficiency improvements
  • Asbestos, lead paint and other contaminant removal
  • Replacement of underground storage tanks
  • Roadway, walkway, drive, infrastracture, drainage and landscape improvements
