ENC 2015 HBCU Forum panelists

For more than three decades, The Institute’s history, mission, and pursuit of excellence to continually raise the bar in creating opportunity and success for diverse communities and businesses have been evident. The recent activities of spring 2015 further exemplify The Institute’s commitment to build strong communities and support diverse businesses.

The 2015 annual Executive Networking Conference (ENC) was a great success for The Institute, with over 200 participants engaged in timely dialogue, networking, and information sharing around the theme “The Diversity Explosion.” The conference featured presentations and panel discussions from two U.S. Representatives: The Honorable G.K. Butterfield, D-NC, and The Honorable Alma Adams, D-NC. Both legislators discussed their efforts to ensure Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) receive the support necessary to maintain their ongoing success in developing leaders for tomorrow.

The 2015 ENC also featured an enlightening discussion led by UNC Professor Jim Johnson, Ph.D. and author William H. Frey, Ph.D. around the major demographic changes happening in America that will have an impact on business, politics, and society further into the 21st century. Key to this demographic shift is the reality that minority populations will no longer represent the “minority” in America within the next 30 years. This fact is destined to have a major impact on the American social and business landscape.

In addition to a successful ENC event, The Institute also launched a new website and social media platforms that will further engage clients, business partners, and stakeholders. The new website is located under the new domain name of and the new Twitter handle is @InstituteMedia. You are invited to connect with The Institute by visiting the new website and by following The Institute on Twitter.

Finally, The Institute finished strong with the announcement of a major new initiative called the Center of E3 (Engagement, Education, and Entrepreneurship). The Center of E3 proudly announced Bank of America as a key supporter, along with other corporate/organizational sponsors expected to join in the future. The Center of E3 will provide state-of-the-art entrepreneurial training and development programs for diverse firms to compete at even higher levels in the worldwide business marketplace.
